At-Home Virtual Fly Day Experience

Children and youth with special needs between the ages of 7 and 21 are invited to join us virtually on Saturday, June 12th, 2021. 

Each registered co-pilot will receive a virtual reality kit with a VR headset, Challenge Air T-shirt, wings and certificate.

A few more details below:

Using 360-degree cameras mounted to the inside and outside of an aircraft, Pilot Glenn will take each co-pilot through the skies of Dallas, TX just as if they were seated next to the pilot. With the use of a Virtual Reality headset, the co-pilot will have the ability to place a smartphone in the headset and look through it to experience the flight. The video is recorded to react to the viewer's movement. If the child looks up, the video looks up. If the child looks out the window, the video looks out the window.

The Virtual Fly Day adventure will kick off on June 12th. Register today! 

What to Expect

Once registered, prior to the event, we will ship you a box containing a Virtual Reality headset, Challenge Air T-Shirt, Personalized Co-Pilot certificate, and a set of Challenge Air wings. 

Step 1:

• Be sure you have downloaded the latest version of the YouTube app onto a smartphone device. 

  Note: Visiting Youtube through safari or another browser will not provide you with the virtual reality option- Be sure to download the Youtube App.

Step 2: 

• On the day of the event, visit the Challenge Air Youtube page. Find the Virtual Reality pre-recorded video. Click the 'goggle' icon  in the lower right-hand corner of the video

Step 3 

• Clip a smart phone device, facing towards you, on the backside of the virtual headset

• Wear your Challenge Air T-shirt and take a picture with your certificate.
